Meent is supporting the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in the recruitment of its UCI Cycling World Championships 2027 Coordinator on a fixed-term contract.

Founded on 14 April 1900 in Paris, the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) is the world governing body for cycling. Its mission is to develop and oversee cycling in all its forms and for everyone, as a competitive sport, a healthy recreational activity and a means of transport.

The UCI also promotes its own events, including the UCI Road World Championships, its flagship annual event, as well as numerous other World Championships and World Cups across the various cycling disciplines. Its headquarters are located in Aigle, Switzerland, at the UCI World Cycling Centre.

Role

As Project Coordinator – UCI Cycling World Championships 2027, you will report to the Olympic Games and Major Events Manager within the Sports Department.

You will work closely with the Olympic Games and Major Events Manager, the relevant UCI departments, the Organising Committee and external stakeholders to ensure the successful planning and delivery of the 2027 UCI Cycling World Championships, which will take place in Haute-Savoie, France.

Missions & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the preparation, planning and operational delivery of the Championships elements falling under the UCI’s responsibility;
  • Develop and maintain the UCI project plan and associated work plans;
  • Ensure effective internal project follow-up with UCI departments and external stakeholders;
  • Monitor milestones and deliverables under the responsibility of both the UCI and the organisers;
  • Prepare, organise and follow up on internal and external project meetings, site visits and briefings, including agendas, minutes and action tracking;
  • Produce regular progress reports for UCI management;
  • Carry out agreed specific tasks, such as maintaining and updating the overall event schedule and coordinating the implementation of the accreditation system, in collaboration with the relevant departments, organisers and stakeholders, in accordance with the agreed process;
  • Coordinate arrangements for the UCI delegation, including accommodation, transport, accreditation and hospitality, in collaboration with the relevant units, including UCI Travel;
  • Perform agreed operational coordination duties during the Championships;
  • Coordinate the post-event debriefing process;
  • Produce the final post-event report;
  • Develop knowledge-transfer documentation and ensure appropriate internal archiving.

Profile Requirements

  • Higher education degree in Sports Management or equivalent;
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in the organisation and delivery of major sporting events, ideally within cycling;
  • Proven project management experience in sports event planning;
  • Excellent organisational skills;
  • Native French speaker with excellent command of English;
  • Good command of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook);
  • Strong leadership skills;
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team;
  • Motivated, curious, open-minded and flexible;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Willingness and availability to travel frequently and work weekends;
  • Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle;
  • Based in the Lake Geneva region or willing to relocate there at short notice.
